Default 99 Sportster 883, are valves adjustable?

I am going to have the rocker covers off this weekend, so it will be an excellent time to check out the valve settings. I have been told contrary things about the stock lifters though. Some say they are hydraulic, others say if they are stock they are solid. How can I tell? I know how to visually look at a lifter and know the difference in auto lifters. But with the motor complete, how can I tell?

What are the valve lash settings, assuming they are adjustable?

Thank you very much in advance. Randy D.

Those bikes are equipped with hydraulic lifters, and solid pushrods. No lash settings, as the lifter takes up the slack.

Thank you very much. I was hoping they were a little loose, so I had room for improvement, lmao.

Thank you very much HSC, RD
