Default Bars and Grips

Getting ready to swap out my bars, 09 nightster. I have just about all the things I think I'll need. still need to measure for the brake line. then I thought about the Grips. Is the clutch side glued on? Or is it held on with the controls?
I like to have every thing ready, so I have no down time, waiting on something I missed. Thanks

the clutch side should be held on by glue. I remember seeing a post about removing it using compressed air not sure though.

Depending on how different the new bars are from the old , you may have to do nothing but tweak the brake line.
My left grip was glued on , on my present bike , I was in a hurry so I cut it off.
I saved the left grip on my last 2 Harleys by positioning the left switch housing away from the grip , tying it up , and wriggling a long , thin , flat blade screwdriver under the grip to get it started and with compressed air , just worked my way around the bar till the grip slid off.
If you use Harley grips on the new bars , they will be held on by the left switch controls like the nostalgic white grips I used , pretty slick.
If you replace the current bars with Harley bars , the required lines and cable changes are listed at their site.

Thanks, that's what I was looking for. I've done grips before on my Intruder, easy enough to do. But since I need to break the glue, might as well look at different grips. just some think else to spruce her up.
