Check the bulb you have. You may be able to get 'some' improvement from a brighter or whiter bulb. Outside that Others will come along and tell us about Bright A$$ Lights, and other from their own experiences.

This one is a step above the stock headlight...not only in reaching out and giving more visibility at night, but it has a good look to it also.

Visor Style Halogen Headlight

Available in Black or Chrome.

It is what I'm running on my Sporty.

Even though it is better than stock, and inexpensive, it is NOWHERE near what you will get out of the LED lights. Those really put out the light...but they are crazy expensive too.

Go to Walmart and pick up a new Sylvania bulb. I use a Silverstar Ultra 9003 for like $25. It's a lot brighter. I've had mine in for three months- no problems.

The Dk Custom light kit is pretty nice. I put it on my bike a few weeks back. I think it looks way better and is a little better than the stock light. Its no LED, but for the price, why not check it out. It helped me drive through a wicked line of storms yesterday for about 100 miles.

Is this a Plug & Play type bulb? Anything else needed?

eh.... plug melting is an excuse to upgrade to a new 7" when it happens. It does get hot but I don't know if it's hotter than the original bulb. Never compared the two side by side but I do know that once when I was getting something out of my tool bag, I bumped my hand on the lens and regretted the hell out of that.

Also, be sure NOT to touch the bulb when changing it. The oils on your fingers are bad for it or something like that. IDK. instructions said not to touch it so I didn't. I figure they wrote that for something...

A quick upgrade could be a more accurate aimed beam like a Cibie E-Code.
Your bike should have a 5 3/4" stock light setup.
http://www.danielsternlighting.com/p.../products.html
This website has some top notch headlamp housings to choose from.
The 5.75" Cibie would be about $80.00 plus ship.
You could use your original bulb for the first comparison.
Any bulb which is rated for 55 watt low and 60 watt high will not ruin your plug.
I ran an Osram Rallye 70/65 bulb in my last bike and it was fine and truly bright.
I went with a 7" drag specialties housing for $80.00 and the Cibie 7" headlamp for $80.00 and a stock bulb for now , it's a huge improvement over stock and got me the "look" I wanted.
If you have a bottom mount setup , it's really easy to mod your headlight on the cheap for sure.
