Every so often my bike will randomly now start. Maybe like the alternator is bad. But once I push start or jump start and ride for a bit everything is fine for awhile until it happens again a few weeks later. New battery fix? Do harleys have alternators? Pretty sure it is a stator for these bikes? Anyone else have this problem?

 

Check your connections, had a similar issue, found a loose ground at the battery.

 

Clean all the connections. Cable ends tarnish

And here's a question for you - When it won't start, how long has it been since the last ride?
Short time - check cables
Been awhile (couple days or more) - battery maybe not holding a charge

 

+1 on the battery connections and loose ground wire.
