Default Hankook Ventus V2 Concept 2 H457

In my eternal quest for the right tire for my bike, I've decided to go with a 205/55-16 rear. I don't see how having as much rubber as possible on the road can be a bad thing. Size aside, I know there are documented "favorites" that everyone sort of sticks with. Has anyone every tried this Hankook tire? I haven't found any information regarding use on a bike. I know some guys who love this brand and in the past I've had good luck with a set of their all-terrains on a truck. I like the directional tread design and some of the features of this one. I may go ahead and scoop one up since they're pretty inexpensive everywhere I've looked. Worst case, I figure I'll put it on and look for something different. My stock replacement Dunlop is reaching critical wear in all of 3 months....

Dark side or not I would not put Hankoo junk on anything. First thing I did on my last new car was get them off day one.

I guess I'll guinea pig this one. Ordered it in 205/55. Should be here in a couple days. If it turns out to be junk I'll run it on the front of my wheelbarrow or something lol

I'll definitely report back.

I saw one in person and was able to handle it. A local shop says they sell well and don't have complaints on them. The solid center rib looks like it would add stability and the outer tread blocks don't have a sharp corner to them, so the tire is slightly "rounded" even brand new. Plus the wider tire on the stock rim should make it round itself a little more. We'll see, it's on the way as well as 3oz of Dyna Beads. Hoping to have on mid-week. I'll give an initial feedback/impression and then again in a few thousand miles.

Tire and DynaBeads showed up today, I had it shipped to my dads house since I'll be using his lift to do the work. He called me when I showed up, "damn son, you sure that's gonna fit?!?!" That pic of the 205 Gmax propped up next to PFWiz's machine gives me hope haha. I'll take some pics tomorrow. This thing showed up just in the nick of time too. My Dunlop was new in January and 6500mi of mostly commuting between then and now has it looking slick as an *** cheek. It needed to be changed a month ago lol. I'll be perfectly happy if I get a year out of this tire. 4 months is a damn joke.

Mounted this tire and promptly put 250mi on it today. I'm impressed with the improved ride probably more than anything else. So much smoother. No more wobbling high speed curves, I threw this bike around HARD today and it never phased the tire. I've got it at 44psi now and will be slowly working it down. Time will tell how it holds up but so far I'm impressed! Call me another one converted probably for good! 3oz of Dyna Beads did the trick too. Smooth as glass. I've got pics, I'll load them up later.

Lift was down and shop was full. So had to revert back to the old ways. Anyway, got it done.

Started at 44psi and just lowered it to 40 today. Haven't ridden it yet but I'm guessing it will be even better. I've got a bit of a "wiggle" at high speed (90+) that I think was just too much air, working it down should help. I also found the front tire a little low, so between the two adjustments I think that will improve. So far, still happy and very impressed with the cornering. I really think it's EASIER for me to put the floorboards on the pavement through a sweeper than before. Did a few parking lot drills after work one day, handling is "different" at slow speed, but still very very good. The rear feels more planted in every situation.
