Default What Size Darkside Car Tires Fit My 2016 Limited ??

I want to put a Darkside Rear Tire on my 2016 Limited.

I definitely want a Run Flat.

There are no 195 60 16 Run Flat tires available.

What Size Rear Tires are you running?

The 205/60 16 is 3/4 inch wider.
Those can be found in a Run Flat.

My concern is not knowing if being 3/4 inch wider will rub the drive belt, or any other issues riding down the road being 3/4 inch wider.

What Size Tire are you running?

Can any of you that are running a 205 60 16 confirm that it does, or does not, rub the drive belt, and that it fits without any interference issuses and no rubbing?

Thanks

Even though a car can run at slow speeds on. Run fast. Would you really ride a motorcycle on a “flattened” no flat tire? Plus run flats have thicker stiffer sidewalls, which will negatively impact handling on a bike. Wouldn’t you be better off adding the tire leak sealant of your choice?

I've run them for years. Absolutely love them. Phenominal ride.

Just looking for size that other darksiders are running on 2014 and up Touring bikes. Mine is a 2016 Limited.

8.1 inch wide is going to push it not worth it. That is a full inch over stock tire. Also 6 tenths higher.
I do not understand the run flat hang up. That latest and greats was abandoned a few years back.

Most common dark side rear on 16 inch wheel is the 195/60R16 and the 205/55R16. The195/65R16 is used when you remove an 18 inch wheel withe the 180 motorcycle tire and switch to a 16 inch wheel.

195'65R16 mounted

New tire mounted. side by side with factory 180

Thanks for your reply, especially with pics.
You are sincerely appreciated.
Which bike do you have, and what year is it?

I definitely want a Run Flat, so that means the 205.
There are no 195 60 16 Run Flat tires to be found, no longer in production.

The 205 55 16 is 1 inch wider.
Can you confirm it is not too wide?
And does not rub the drive belt?
Or any other issues being 1 inch wider?

Have you run the 205 55 16 tire?

Many Thanks for your help.

Will a 205/55r16 fit without rubbing the drive belt, or rub anything else?

If the 205/55r16 rubs the drive belt and cuts into the sidewall, it could obviously end in catastrophic failure.

Anybody running a 205/55r16 on a 2014 or newer Touring model?

Are there any issues with it rubbing the drive belt or rubbing anything else?

Mine is a 2016 Limited

I will share some thoughts. Different manufacturers tires measure different widths and diameters even though marked 205. Most run flats have thicker side wall and seem to run on the wider side. The next thought is that the only run flat that I have seen in a deflated situation was visibly wider than it was aired up. All these comments would be a problem for a bike with minimal clearance to the belt.
I had a 195 BFG tire that when aired up was too wide for my ultra. Your experience may vary and if you are successful, I hope you share your trials and success.

Consider dropping the run flat obsession and try a 195 / 60 R 16. As far as pressure, when mine gets down below 26 or so, I add air and bring it up to 35 'ish'. Usually once a year in the fall.
