Default Speedway Tent Camping

Has anyone camped at the Daytona International Speedway for Bike Week? I'm thinking about trying that out this year and would be tenting it. Any opinions or observations about the facilities and the like?

Some friends did and I stayed with them.
It is clean has a lot of space.
The down side is you can't have anyone come visit you without paying for a wristband. So no friends are dropping in.

It is also away from everything other than the speedway activities.

I don't know anyone who has camped at the speedway. There is alot of construction going on there right now also (will last through next year). I don't know how that affects the camping...There are camp grounds up towards destination Daytona (Thunder gulch
I think it's called). One over by the Cabbage Patch called "Cackleberrys"....plenty of places to camp.

I've camped a few places in Daytona. Love Tomoka State Park but getting a spot there is a crap shoot. Was just thinking making the races a focal point this spring would be a way to go and had never even seen the camping area at the speedway. Thanks for the replies

From what I can see when riding by the Speedway, most of the construction seems to around the grandstands along International Speedway Blvd. I'm not sure, but I don't think that would affect the camping area. It did reduce the vendors' area during Biketoberfest though.
