Ohio Bike Week?????
There is actually a lot do do/see within, say a 3 hour 1 way ride.

Take a ferry over to the islands & winery, putt down to C-Bus and hit the Motorcycle Hall of Fame...
I have not been there yet, keep meaning to as Sandusky is only about 40 minutes from here, but just haven't done it yet. Never been to Ohio Bike Week as I am not a people person and I hate crowds, a couple guys I work with have been and they say it's a good time. http://www.ohiobikeweek.com/
Be aware though, Sandusky is a klstrfck in the summertime as the Cedar Point traffic is a nightmare in itself and then picture adding thousands of bikes to the mix. We normally avoid Sandusky in the summer just because of Cedar Point but especially during bike week. Again, that's just me, I hate crowds and stop and go traffic.
As far as attractions goes it all depends on what you are looking to do. Cedar Point, http://www.cedarpoint.com/ bills itself as the world's best roller coaster park.
Then there are the Lake Erie Islands that are a short ferry ride away, Kelly's Island http://www.kelleysislandchamber.com/default1.htm is actually big enough to enjoy riding a bike on for a short time. Put In Bay is the party island, http://www.putinbay.com/ You can take your bike to Put In Bay, but most just ferry across and rent golf carts or bicycles, the island isn't that big.
Seneca Caverns, http://www.senecacaverns.com/ is a fairly short ride away, while not quite as spectacular as the Ohio Caverns, http://www.ohiocaverns.com/ it is still a pretty cool spot and closer to Sandusky. The roads to Ohio Caverns are very nice on a bike and you could check out the Piatt Castles while you're there. http://www.piattcastles.org/
If you are looking to do any riding on scenic roads, that are curvy with rolling hills you will have to ride south an hour or so. Yes we have a few areas up here in the northern end of the state that are pretty cool, but, the best riding is farther south. The hocking Hills area has some of the best riding in the state, http://www.hockinghills.com/ but, it is a couple of hours from Sandusky. Pretty much everywhere around Interstate 77 south of Akron has cool riding roads as well once you get away from the cities.

If you come you may want plan a day at Cedar Point. Especially if you like roller coasters. The point is the only park with 4 coasters higher than 200' and has more rides than any park in the world!
Some pretty good riding to be had, you can go to Mansfield and tour the reformatory where the Shawshank Redemption was filmed. You will want to ride / eat / drink your way thru Catawba and Port Clinton (tourist areas, right on the lake) and maybe spend a day at the islands. Lots of others...
You may want to think about taking Rt 6 thru Pa. The actual name of Rt 6 is Grand Army of the Republic Highway. I understand it was "the road" before Rt 66. Momma and I road it a few years ago, it was great!
If you come down, let me know and I will try to gather up more info for you...

Momma and I went to Mountainfest in Morgan Town, WVa last year. It was great! Saw Charlie Daniels and Creedence Clearwater Revisted. Lots of crazy, hilly, curvy riding down there.
Just a thought....
