This is no joke. My wife locked her keys and remote in her car. She called me to ask me to bring her the spare key and remote.

We were talking on cell phones. I grabbed the spare key/remote out of the drawer, held the remote against my cell phone and pressed the open button. At the same time, she held her phone against the car's lock.

It opened!!!!!!!!

Somehow the cell phones were able to transmit the signal. That was her new Impala so later we tried it on my Ford pickup and it worked too!

I'm so fkn smart (and lucky) I think I go buy a good cigar.

 

For years I carried a spare door key in my wallet, (A lesson learned the hard way), now my Expedition has the keypad on the door, so no worries.

Yes, I've seen it *work* on youtube videos, and how easy would that be to fake?

A local radio show tried it, and it did not work. They tried about 10 cars, and had ZERO success rate.

Maybe someone can snopes this.

I simply use the spare valet key that I have hidden under the bumper of each of my cars.

 

This is what tells me it's total BS! Baker, you messed up, because the radio waves don't go to the lock, they go to a receiver under the dashboard.
