I have two Harley's, one's stock and will stay that way. The other one is for those day's when too much is just enough.:

I began a Stage 2 upgrade this winter. It all started with taking my SG to my dealer to find the source of a rattle within my pipes. As long as the bike was at the dealer, I decided to get new tires rather than waiting for spring to change them. Lately, I've become very paranoid about this crappy cam tensioner on the 06's I keep hearing about so I decided to bite the bullet and put in the upgraded replacement. Now, I'm in for the big bucks so as long as I've got the bike all tore apart, this is the time to make any really big upgrades. I purchase the standard Stage 2 package and got a 20% discount on the parts plus a dyno tune for the cost of a canned program. All this because of a rattle back in late November. I expecting a big boost in HP and torque.

The "why" of it was I wanted the bike to be more responsive on the low end, especially when riding two up. Between myself and my GF, we're pushing 450 pounds; so my main motovation was make sure the bike had all the power I would want, when I wanted it, without having to wind up the motor's rpms first. I'm not a racer by any means, but I do like passing power.

StreetGlider57.....did you find the rattle?

Chased a rattle for a year on one of my FXRs.....loose rivet on the front fender.

That's the million dollar question. They told me the rattle was due to a loose baffle in the slipon. Which is now fixed. I can't really be sure though until spring when I get it out and ride it, which won't be for a least two more months. But you raise a good point, I don't want to loose track of reason I stopped of at the dealer in the place.
