Big bore kits are a good choice, and you can go mild to wild with them. 110 kits are a nice bump in hp/tq. You can just do cams/intake/exhaust and tuner if money is tight. I don't like modifying heads cause I hear of a lot of failures because of it. However there are a lot of people who have upgraded heads that don't have problems. What type of riding do you do? What exactly do you want? Are you just looking for a little bump in hp/tq or are you wanting a lot more power?

If you're looking for brisk performance from 75 mph, and you want to retain a v-twin, then Ducati might be something to look at. Like it or not, HD's are pretty limp when it comes to performance. Sure, anyone with 2 nickels to rub together can pay someone to build them a more powerful engine. But then...reliability suffers. It suffers because the owner is trying to operate the engine outside the design perameters set forth by HD. So, the choice is yours...

You really need to "want it" to go past Stage 2...money will add up pretty fast. One thing can lead to another ie: big bore likes headwork which likes a bigger throttle body, now you need a better clutch etc, etc.

Most would be very pleased with the proper cams, exhaust, air cleaner, and dyno tune.

Just get cams and a good exhaust and ac then have it dyno tuned. I chose the big bore kit because it included the cams, and larger injectors/throttlebody
