My son is the same way with talking about a lot of the stuff he went through in Iraq. I don't hear about a lot of things. Between that and his being one of the first to respond at the Pentagon (he was at Arlington for 4 years, and yes it was a jet), I worry some of that stuff coming back to haunt him. So far, he has accepted it as part of his life, and he keeps on keeping on.

Agree. If I talk about it much (like posting here), sometimes kinda sticks in my head for a few days, but a lot of days I don't think about it at all, almost seems like a dream. I do sometimes wonder what kind of human I would've been without that experience. Must be lurking in my head somewhere, though, when I was in DC sometime back, just didn't want to get near the wall.
