Default Loose metal sound when light throttle

When I accelerate in 4th gear I hear like loose metal, ticking sound. I've researched and see the usual these are loud engines. I thought it was my gremelin charm but unfortunately it was not...

The engine is loud at certain rpm's. Most all will have a ticking sound.
Make sure your heat shield clamps are all tightened up too. I've always had rattling issues with fuel doors as well. Just a couple things to check.

I had a sound like that a while back on a previous bike, and it drove me nuts. After a lengthy investigation, I found it was one of the foot rest swivel bolts was just a little too loose and the washer vibrated at certain speeds/rpm's. Just saying it could be anything, so do a thorough check... Good luck finding yours!

How hot is it in your area?
Are you running premium fuel?

Gas lid push button. That was what my noise was. Next time you hear it, put your finger on the button.

Hope it is that simple for you too

It probably is pinging like the other guys suggested. One way to test... dump in about a 1/3 of a bottle of lucas octane boost and hammer the **** out of it in 4th gear. If the sound doesn't happen, or it happens less often, it's probably pinging.

If it sounds like fine gravel hitting the fender it probably is engine ping " pre detonation ". As trip20 said use a quality octain boost in a fresh tank of 93 or better and see if that takes care of the issues. Have you done any air or exhaust upgrades?

Sounds like my experiences with pinging when accelerating under load.
