Default Oil change

This may be a stupid question but! Is it ok to change my oil after I warm my bike up of coarse but the new oil has been sitting in the garage and is cold from this damn winter? I didn't know if the cold oil hot engine combo would be ok?

You should alway warm the bike up before an oil change. Warm oil will drain better. As far as adding the new cold oil, it will be fine. By the time you replace the oil filter and drain plug, the case will have cooled down and cooler oil won't hurt a thing.

ride the bike for about 30 minutes to an hour so all the oil is circulated and at temp.

You'll be fine.

If your really concerned, just let the new oil bottles sit in the house over night.
But that isn't necessary.

I always sprinkle a few drops on my wrist to make sure the temp is just right!!!!

After you put in the cold oil, just start your bike and let it idle for a few minutes and all will be fine.

So how about taking the cold oil into the house for an hour to warm it up first?

That is, if it matters at all...

I set my new oil bottles in the sun to warm a bit, makes them drain faster and more thoroughly. I only put 3 qts in at an oil and filter change, takes it half way between marks on dipstick.

Yes, you do save quite a bit.

But be sure and perform all of the rest of the service that is called for according to your maintenance schedule.

A "service" is more than just an oil change.
