Anyone know if the speakers on 06 models are still inferior to the hog tunes speakers? I love my new H/K radio but the speaker choke (distort) at high volume and speed. I have never had the chance to hear the Hogtunes speakers but I know I need more out of my radio!

 

What I have heard is that the '06 speakers are better than the '05's, but still not as good as Hogtunes. Swap them out for Hogtunes. You won't be sorry. Mine come through clearer and I can hear with less distortion. Anyway, my 2 cents worth. I first swapped out my stocks (05's) with J & M speakers. They were an improvement. But then I put in Hogtunes. they were better yet!

Hogtunes!!!!! Nothing comes close so far

 

HogTunes are awesome. Plus you get a 20 year warranty. And that aint no joke, I used it once. (Not to knock a product, just boast about their customer service)

 

Ok SOLD!!! I have added them to my wish list from the wife! She was thrilled "Oh Gee, more thigns for your bike..." LOL Birthday is commin up so I am good to go! How hard is the fairing to remove?

 

If it's like the '05s it's a piece of cake. 3 screws for the windshield, 4 on the inner fairing. When you get those off, lift the outer fairing up and out, reach down, unplug the headlight, and you're in there. 3 screws on each speaker...piece of cake.

The 06 fairings are the same as the 98-05 and its easy--just put a towel on your front fender just in case. If you have the chrome triple tree cover--the bolts on the bottom of the fairing like to fall in this cover--and the cover needs to come off to get them out.

Just dont overtighten the top 3 windscreen bolts. If you strip the pressed in threaded inserts you'll be cursing words you did'nt know you knew. Squeeze the fairing (inner and outer) and windscreen together by hand and tighten the screws. Takes some stress off these ridiculous fasteners. It's real easy!

 

oh thanks for that advice pez....hopefully in a few months im gonna be a new customer of yours...i really want the hogtunes speakers i have alread blown a set of factory speakers
