Default Am I hearing things?

I removed the stock air cleaner and installed a DK Customs Outlaw 636V air cleaner and breather kit today and if seems like my bikes exhaust got louder. Forgive me if this is a newbie question, I just started riding last year, learning as I go. I have dresser duals and mgs mufflers. I don't mind that it got louder if it did, that's why I swapped out my hi-outputs for the mgs w/loud baffles.

A change like that may require a change in the tune. Worth looking at.

More sound from exhaust. When you really open it up you will hear more sound from the intake itself as well. rufasim nailed it.
General rule is exhaust only = no tuner needed
Intake only = no tuner needed
Intake and Exhaust = Tuner needed

I put on a Ness AC, the type that uses the stock 103 housing. The wail from it under throttle is louder than the engine and exhaust put together.

It's on my short list to dump.

Thank you. I'm running the FP3, going to do some more auto tuning today. Can't wait for the throttle body and heavy breather cover to show up to clean up the look.

I disagree.

General rule is changing the air flow on either side, intake OR exhaust without changing the VE tables is not beneficial. These bikes run lean from the factory, adding a more free flowing intake or exhaust makes them run even more lean.

GET A TUNER.

You are probably hearing an increase in intake noise because the AC isn't as inclosed as the stock breather. I added a Fuel Moto Pro Billet AC and now under moderate acceleration I hear the intake over my exhaust. They sound similar but the intake is higher pitched.
