Default Hesitation

I just put Rinehart True Duals on. It seems now there is a bit of a hesitation and an occasional sputter when I start out in first and also shifting up through the gears. I have Stage I and HD download. I had Samsonslip on ovals previously.I am not too tech savy. Any suggestions what would improve this? I have read about SERT, V & H fuel pak, and PC III, and a couple of others, but surewhat I need to do or what is best.

Anythoughts or suggestionswould be appreciated.

Thanks!!

I have a stock ECM and the V&H Fuel Pack with my RH TDs.
One thing .... the RH TDs have a variation in the header pipes which go from 1-3/4" at the head to 1-7/8" at the mid finishing up at 2" at the end.

I would maybe think the HD download was for the Samson Slip ons? or what was the download for?

With the RH TDs I've found for backpressure etc it is not 'good' to have the RPMs < 2k or bad sputtering occurs. I have an Ultra and so the RPM Gauge is easy to spot. I would tend to believe you are shifting and the RPMs are <= 1800 if you are getting enough sputtering on the low-end of gear-shift changes.

I've found on my ultra with the RH TDs to ensure I go to a minimum of 3k on the RPMs (for easy cruising) prior to shifting. That way the next gear is roughly 2200 RPMs and seems just fine.

Hope that helps a lil.

The dealer did the Stage I with air cleaner and the slip-ons at the same time when I bought it.

might wanna just see about shifting later then.

With the 'rumble' coming out of the pipes sometimes it might seem you are at higher revs than you actually are.

Might even be worthwhile to look at getting a dual Speedometer/RPM gauge like:

HD - 74676-07

course there are cooler ones out there than that.

you should not have to avoid certain rpm's because of sputtering or decel popping. my rinehart td's are smooth as a babys bottom at ALL rpm's, mostly because of the thundermax.
