Default Stage 1 with decatted stock pipes

Looking to decat the stock pipes and add tuner and air cleaner on my 2010 Limited. How much more performance will this give the bike? Is anyone running this setup? Looking to get rid of some heat and add little performance in the process. Like to have a tuner that I can program myself and that has auto tune for elevation changes and such. What tuners will auto adjust for such changes? Was thinking Thundermax but not sure if I want to spend that kind of money if something else will function the same.

Thats what you will get, a little less heat, and a little more performance. About 3-5% better performance.

Similar setup in mine. Very happy compared to the stock configuration. Stock mufflers sound better too. My bike no longer pings, better acceleration and last but not least doesn't burn my wife's right foot.

No cat pipe is good till 100h/p +/-. Works great with stage 1.

I have open a/c, slip ons, decatted h/pipe, cam and Power Vision tuner. Very happy. Looking at heads now. Will need new head pipe. Supposedly stock decatted head pipe will hold you back at some point.

Whatever tuner you decide, give fuel moto a call.......

Taking out the cat, installing a low flow air filter and adding VIED fuel enricheners is the poor mans stage one.

Cheap and effective.
Motor will run cooler, have better throttle response, and more torque so less shifting and less clutch slipping from a stop.

Not sure you get all that much more performance, but the motor runs better, and the rider and passenger feel much less heat.

Side benefit is that the pipes sound a little deeper and louder than when the cats are in. Not a huge difference, just enough that you no longer hear the rattling of the valve train.

For many, it is the perfect budget solution.

Just exactly what he said below! I have done all that, including drilling out the baffles partially on the mufflers. I have noticed it will now pull in 6th gear at 75 mph, no more downshifting.

Anyone know anything about the RC excelerator tuner? Multiple tuners to choose from is a good thing but man it makes it hard to decide on one. Don't care to shell out the cash if it will benefit the bike but don't want to spend it if something cheaper will do same thing. LOL May add a set of 4" Rineharts to it as well.

When I decide to do a tuner I will be doing the Power Vision and getting it from Fuelmoto. I have chatted with them and all things considered it seems to be the best bang for the buck.

Can't beat the support and unlimited maps through them. Price is reasonable and I like the capabilities the unit has.
