Check with some of your local Indy's. The good ones have already built jigs for forming and welding up a pipe section for the part of the cat they cut out of the stock pipes. A heck of a lot cheaper than getting new headers from Charley, if you can even get them.

If you can't find a good Indy, give Danny a call at Danny's Cycle in Montgomery, TX. He has some catless pipes (stock with cat cut out) on the floor. Saw them last week. He will take your stock pipes on a trade then cut the cat out for the next customer.

Your second best option (IMO) would be to go with an after market header such as Rinehart, Jackpot, Vance and Hines, Super Trap, etc. Yes you will need a high flow air cleaner and a good tune. Sounds like you are going through the normal progression. Might as well get yourself some good cams and replace the bearings. The bike will now accelerate when it makes all that noise. That will make you happy.... For a while.

lol...You got that right Wollymonster!

It's pretty easy to cut it out yourself...if you're not up for that, another option is American Custom . com They have catless head pipes.

If you have a good tune right now and the only thing you are changing is removing the cat, you will NOT need to do another tune, the ECM will adjust for that relatively small change in flow.

Look at American Customs. They'll swap out your stock header with stock without Cat. ( good pricing)
If you want to stay stock. I've heard real good things about them.

Another option for 2009 catless head pipe is I frequently see HD pipes on Ebay for $50 to $100 if you want to keep your stock head pipe. They are popular for late model touring bikes going with no O2 sensors or adding O2 sensors in the lower location.

If you're asking about the American Custom pipes, yes on the O2 holes.
These headers will be exactly what you took of your bike.
They will gut yours or sell you already gutted

My recommendation would be the Jackpot 2-1-2 headpipe from FuelMoto. It has both 02 sensor location/sizes in the pipe, fits perfectly in place of the stock pipe, and uses the stock heat shields for a perfectly stock appearance.

Then you hang on to your stock pipe with the cat in case you ever need it in the future.
