Cam shoe check, what supplies needed?

Cam shoe check, what supplies needed?
Before I cover her up and tender her to sleep for the winter, I'm going to change all three holes and check the cam tensioner shoes.
Had the bike for 10K miles, 40K on the clock now, So I have no idea if it was ever upgraded or changed out.
Aside from fluid, are there seals/gaskets I need to purchase to pull the cam cover off for inspection? Are these gaskets typically reusable?
Looks like Exhaust needs to be removed.
New gasket or reuse?
Not having any issues with my 05 Ultra at all, but it's time to check.
I'd rather have what I need then get to that point and oh $hit myself for not having needed supplies.
Thanks

they sell a kit for that ,basicly a gasket and some orings, might want to get an exhaust gasket or two as you will have to drop at least the front pipe (I just drop both) make sure to replace the suction o"ring on the oil pump for sure or you will sump the motor and not build good pressure and have to take it all down again

If you're going to only check the shoes you only need the cam cover gasket, no o-rings.
As Mike said, you may/may not need an exhaust gasket depending on the condition of the front header one. Get a little dentist mirror to check the inner shoe. Although if it's really screwed you'll be able to see with just a torch.

no problem ,, if the up date has not been done and you decide to do it the se kit comes with a better oil pump, cam plate ,outer chain & bearings (which I threw away and got the better Torrington ones at a bearing house for about $5 ea) was a good change ,, not hard to do , just make sure to torque every thing right ,, piece of cake just take time. my oil pressure went from about 5psi at idle to about 15psi & about 38-40 psi running @ temp . good luck

If you get the Cyco shoes, just make sure that the shoe is on right, they had it wrong in the pic (I put it on as was in the pic & pinged the pin & when I flipped the page it was on there wrong). I wrote to them several times & got blown off. The last I checked it was still wrong.

Here is where you can get them also. Look at the number 4 post & then look at the instructions at there sight. I went gear drive, still have the shoes & 1 new from Harley. Would just need some new pins to salvage them.
