clutch problem
TexasRedneck is the way i would roll.
stuff happens, if people step-up and try their best (came out and fixed it) they maintain my respect.
the manager may call you back ...if they do call back he may apologize and if pressed maybe throw-in an oil change or if you flip-it and thank him for all the help and sending the tech. out he may still give you an oil change but you definitely have made a relationship with the dealer.

TexasRedneck is absolutly right. Tell me that you NEVER made a mistake at your job?! People like TR are always welcome to our beer box, sometimes before we can get into it. TR you can stop by our shop ANYTIME were open!
I have two suggestions.
1: Buy a Harley service manual for your bike.
2: Buy a Harley parts manual for your bike.
If you have these two items you can do just about anything that your dealer will or could do in reference to servicing your bike. This way you don't have anything to worry about when it comes to wrenching your bike.

I can just hear the conversation on the HS shop end of the phone when you called and were broke down.
You-my bike is broken. The cluth lever is bottoming out and hitting the grip. I almost had to lay the bike doen to stop. You guys just worked on it a couple days ago.
Shop-wow, we are really sorry, Let me see what i can do.
Shop---places you on hold--Hey, who worked on Mr. Mans baike a couple days ago?

Shop- he just called and said he has no clutch.
Tech-Sh**, i forgot to tighten the friggin adjuster nut. Dam*
Shop--takes you off hold---Mr. Man we will be right there.

at 2500 mile on my New 2007 Harley Ultra, I noticed I had no play in my clutch lever and the transmission was only barely engaging. I took it in and was told I had burned up the clutch and that it had to be replaced. The dealership did this at no charge to me. After another 1000 miles and while participating in a slow ride contest (using the clutch a lot), I again lost all play in thelever and the clutch would just barely engage. I took it tothe the dealer again, and was asked who was adjusting my clutch and replied that his people were the only people I allowed to service my bike. The response was that this couldn't happen without someone over adjusting the clutch. I told him I had ridden the bike all day without any problems and while participating in the games it occurred. Anyway, the're checking with HD to find out how this can happen and I was wondering if anyone else has similar problems. thanks
Thanks for all of your input. After cooling down I decided to take your advice. The manager just called and I was very polite to him and I thanked him for sending the mechanic out right away.
Anyway, he said that this is very common on the 07s. I have never heard anyone have this problem. Anyone ever had this happen???
Sounds like they took good care of you and thats great. However the service guy broke a cardinal rule...you never say that a problem is very common on a particular model or year. A statement like that opens up all kinds of speculation and postings that need not be. Not to mention that if it is in writing it becomes law and can kick their *** in court.
