Default Frt End Wobble

Just took the Limited for a ride. Pulled out of my driveway and had a very noticeable wobble in the frt. Was at approx. 10-15 mph. Went for a ride and while going 20-25 mph and letting hands off bars the bike was wobbling real bad. At higher speeds wobble was not there. Any thoughts as to what the problem might be. Needless to say rode home with a lot of caution. Tire pressure is good.

Parked too long on the kickstand? Low tire? What year, how old is the tire?

The bike is a 2014 Limited. Not the heritage in my sig pic. I have 16k miles on her. Tire is original stock Dunlop. Tread is still good.

In years gone by that would typically point at the need for a neck bearing adjustment. I believe '14 and newer have a different design in the steering head assembly and have ball bearings versus the old tapered bearings. If you still have warranty left it sounds like a prime job for the dealer. Along with the new design there is no longer a grease zerk in the head. You might be able to negotiate the 25,000 mile dis-assembly for a lube job along with the wobble adjustment.

I have a 2015 Ultra. When it had about 3K on the clock it began displaying the same symptoms as you described. The wobble would come and go. Might do it for a thousand miles, then the next thousand it wouldn't. Took it to the dealer, they adjusted the neck bearings. Still wobbled intermittently. At 15K I decided to change the front tire to see if that was the problem. The tire had plenty of tread left, but I was becoming irritated with the wobble and figured that was the only thing left to change.

It worked. New tire installed and the wobble went away. Hasn't come back in over 1K miles. Of course, that doesn't mean that with my luck it won't come back. Now that riding season is upon us I can put some serious miles on it and hope the wobble is history.
