By limiting the number of bikes theyget the dealers can charge more and get it. It also will bring the used bike market prices back up some. It is all supply and demand.

I saw an artical in one of therags about a INDY down in San Deigo that has a kit to turn a V-ROD into a bagger. I understand that just about all of the parts are factory HD parts. It stated that the harley guys had ben talking to him about it.
Well, ya...........................it's called a Road Rod. No secret.

whether it will be 08,09, or 2010 is a guess, but it is inevitable.

But I don't expect it will be the vrod Revolution engine. That was a test
platform. New one will probably be based on it, but bigger.

If I can afford one I will probably buy one in a couple years.

I would be first in line in this area for a liquid cooled road king.

2 is we can expect a watercooled bike a lot sooner than we expected due to EPA guidlines
I always hear this but no one has explained to me why Yamaha can pass emmsions tests with their air cooled engine but Harley can't? How Yamaha can build a better Harley than Harley just doesn't make sense to me.

And do not knock the performance capabilities for the liquid cooled engine. I have 130rwhp on my StreetRod and it is completely reliable with 10,000 miles to back it up.
If were about performance, Vtwins wouldn't even be mentioned in the 1st place. My ZX10R(I-4 )with little more than a pipe and a PC3 with a dyno tune made 176rwhp on pump gas and weighed 400lbs. The point is, to most people, Harley's are air cooled motors and however successful the Vrod may be, it isn't what most people consider to be a "Harley". The 45 degree Vtwin is a beautiful powerplant, probably why the VAST majority of custom builder choose it for their creations. The Vrod engine engine is horrid, no matter how much chrome you glue to it, and the radiators look like an afterthought. I have several water cooled engines but I wouldn't buy a water cooled Harley. My Harley isn't about performance, it's about the ride, the simplicity, and the style. As for reliabilty, 10K miles isn't enough to brag about reliability wise. Come back when you get 50K or more.

Here's my addition to the rumors... no facts in it at all, just my educated guess.

HD is (sorry, this part is fact) adding another assembly line to the FL Power Plant here in Menomonee Falls. That line will not be up and running until Dec. 2007 or Jan. 2008. My guess is that the new line will make a liquid cooled 96 for the 2009 touring bikes.

They just released the 96" motor. Granted all they did was make the stroke bigger.

Give them 2-3 years and MoCo should come out with something. Most likely like they did with the six speed. Release it to one line and to see the reaction. Gives them 1 year to tweak it a little.

Perhaps the touring line will be the first one get them

Go check out the metric forums, they already have them. Didn't you come over from a Honda. Its like the Winter Texas that come down here to South Texas from up north and bitch that its not Iowa or some where. (no offense to my fellow Iowa riders). Hello! Its a HD or South Texas. Go back if you don't like it.

Now all that said HD does have the V-Rod and most likely will have a Tour Bike to follow. But if you don't like what they offer now, you have the freedom to purchase somewhere else.

All the more reasonto buy an Electra Glide now. The only liquid cooled bikes I want are a 1974 Suzuki 750 and a Wankel Norton.I know some day there wont be any more air cooled bikes so enjoy them while you can still get a new one.
