I own and ride both a Sportster and an Ultra. Ride whatever you want, just RIDE! That was the point I tried to make. I guess just as I didn't get the 1/2 a Harley joke, somebody didn't get my "garbage wagon" joke. I never meant to start a pissin contest here, but why should a patch holder care what an ignorant wannabe thinks?

If you are referring to me as an "ignorant" wannabe, spare me. I never asked what a "patch holder" thinks because I don't give a flying f*ck what anyone thinks, especially a patch holder. If there is a wannabe on here it's you, dumb@ss. As for not trying to start a pissin contest, yeah, that's EXACTLY what you meant to start with that BS reply above.
Wow.
I have to agree with the comment that the Sportster is NOT 1/2 a Harley. A decent running 1200 (OR) Ironhead will blow the saddlebags off the average TC or Evo. I say this from experience. We had a 1993 1200 (883 conv) That thing would flatass MOVE!!
On the other note, the Dyna seems to be the factory guinee pig. If any model gets something new, it's always the Dyna. Maybe thats why no WG this year. Imagine a DWG with a VRod motor.
Maybe I'm way off here. I'd just like to see them make a comfortable VRod. Sport tourer? Small fairing. They need to smooth it out though. As I said in another post, the VRod is not as smooth has a T/C.
half a what?????????
I'd take a good look and ride on a sporster and then say that. If anything some of the big twins are half a HARLEY in more ways than any sportster will ever be.

not at all impressed by the vrod. but rspect them just the same.
I would welcome a liquid-cooled engine in the existing touring chassis! I've not been too impressed with the looks of the converted VRods that have the Road Glide fairing and hard saddlebags. They look pretty good from a distance, but up close look rather clumsily put together. But put that VRod engine in an existing King or Glide platform and I would line up at the door! I commute in rush hour traffic in Atlanta and worry about my air-cooled engine in the summer - it gets very, very hot.
