Default S&S 106 big bore kit

I have decided to install the 106 s&s big bore kit to my 2007 street glide, however I am not sure if it will work well with the 551 easy start cams currently installed in my bike.

Anybody made the same combination 106 /107 kit with the said cams ?

also installed s&s power tunes with vance and hines slip ons, s&s stealth air cleaner and thundermax ecu.

I am looking for low end torque.
Should I do the heads as well?

Thanks

I did the 106 BB with Woods 555 cams, my stock crank everyone said would be fine lasted about two months. Ran great before that!

I'm running that set up, but thinking about swapping the cams for 583's. The 551's haven't run smoothly for me, and I wonder if the compression ratio is too high for the 551's. On the website, 551's are for less than 10-1 compression ratio, which in the CR for the set-up with stock heads.

I think if your crank was going to go, it was going to go, 106 or not, I doubt the 106 killed your crank. Tons of people running 107s, 120+ TQ, no issues. I've got 20K on my, still going quite strong...

I just did the 106 mod on my 09 ultra but I put in the 585 easy start cams and really like the change. Can really tell the difference in torque.

It's hardly a fair comparison, but my S&S Evo 107" came with 585 cam and the torque curve is wide and smooth. Great performance for a heavy Glide!
