I'm looking at different seat options for my 09 RK. I'm leaning toward the Mustang Wide Tripper but I recently found out about the Fred Kodlin seats. They look great but are expensive (like everything else out there). I've checked out a lot of the seats offered by the standard seat manufacturers but only the Mustang Wide Tripper seems to have the looks and good comfort reviews. I can't find any reviews on the Kodlin seats. Does anyone have one and would like to share your experience before I make an expensive mistake? I have attached two photos of the red version and the black version. Thanks.
No experience with Fred Kodin seats but do yourself a favor and look at C&C seats. I have three and they are some of the finest I've seen, they will cover them with anything you can imagine.
I'm a dealer so PM me if your interested in one and I can work you out a deal.
The one with red diamond stitching looks best but the last photo looks like it would be the most comfortable. I checked out their website last week. I'll keep them in mind. Thanks.
Coincidentally I ordered the black one last night. I will post back about it when it arrives. Nevada73 the seat is made by mustang and is designed by Kodlin. Nevada73, what seat is on that bike of yours? It's good lookin.

That's what I thought. It looks much like my Roland Sands Design Enzo 2 up (in the pic), which is also made by Mustang. It's very well made and comfortable for such a low profile seat. It provides tons of leg room which is good for me at 6-4. You'll enjoy that seat.
Are the pics you posted the Kodlin or Mustang seats?
The pics that I posted were of the Kodlin seats (made by Mustang). I didn't post one of the Wide Tripper. It's great that 685Power ordered one. We can use him as the guinea pig. Let me know how it rides. If your a$$ starts hurting after only 75 miles, that might be an indicator that it's too hard. It looks like it is more firm than the OEM seat I have now.
Fine09 I'm hoping to maybe get some time on it after it arrives. Weather in NJ getting sketchy by the day. I will definitely keep you posted. By the way, the kodlin is replacing a lepera villain that is a 75 mile seat for me. Looks great but not very comfortable.
I have both a Solo & Sports Touring w/riders back rest. The Solo is on most of the time and have ridden all day with out a Back rest. Comfy, Comfy, Comfy!!!!
Sports Touring is only on when the wife rides, along with the Tour-park. Or when we travel of course.
There are some pre owned ones for sale right now in the Touring for sale section.

I'll wager the Kodlin feels much like my seat. A friend and I traded bikes for a stretch and he mentioned that he was surprised the seat was so comfortable because it looks like a bar hopper seat. I did buy it for around town use and looks in all honesty, but was surprised that I could use it for somewhat longer day rides. I will say that a very long day in the saddle one time left me pretty sore. I would rate it as a 200 mile seat max, but everyone is different.
If you are considering the Kodlin it's worth it to look at the RSD seats as well.
