Default Extended Warranty

Worn lifters , cams , cam chain tensioners , primary tensioner shot. 50.00 deductible good to go. Tried to sell me a new bike , 3,000.00 over MSRP and give me 10,000.00 for my 13 Ultra with 63,000 miles. Told him no way I will ride it another 60,000 for that kind of deal. Damn near like new now!

One thing to add. The " average Harley rider " only puts on 5,000 miles. Trailer miles don't count I guess !!

It is the extended Harley warranty. I don't recommend it if you put on 5,000 miles a year.

Please note that it is not a "warranty"- in the legal or practical sense of the term.

it is a service contract, usually with a third party company- although it may be sold in partnership with H-D and their dealers.

Fast Hoss is a perfect case for getting the ESP- 20K miles a year.

on a low usage bike or one which the owner wants to modify buying the ESP can be money just thrown away.

The 2 year warranty from H-D is sufficient for most, and even that may be voided by a rider who likes to do performance mods.

How much did this contract cost?

It was a two year thing after new warranty , don't remember what it cost. I have had to use it several times already for a variety of stuff , parts are always high but the labor on this last episode was 95.00 a hour.

That ESP is a wonderful thing when you need it. I've had the 7 year coverage on my last three bikes. It more than paid for itself on my '02 & '09 Ultra Classics. So far I haven't had to use it that much for my 14 Limited but I have almost 4 more years of coverage left and I just turned 75,000 miles. It's almost worth it just for the peace of mind.

I don't have one, but just wondering if the price is negotiable. I know they are on cars, and sometime up to 50% below the initial offer. Don't usually do the ESP thing, but if I can negotiate down enough, I will sometimes bite.
