14' SGS Compensator Eliminator Sprocket Install
#41
The primary chain tensioner on my bike looked good but, after the 124 transplant, would over tighten the chain. It was pretty loud (squealing) and when we pulled the primary off to check the noise discovered how tight it was. The stock auto tensioner, as you know, only tightens and doesn't release the tension. My bike had 13,700 miles on it at the time the S&S was dropped in. Interesting that some tensioners don't seem to do this on large motors? I'm now running a twin power solid sprocket, Hayden M6 tensioner with a Barnett Scorpion clutch (which, btw, has begun to make a squawking noise at times when rolling from a stop in first gear). Not sure what's up with the clutch. Anyone running a Scorpion with this issue?

I actually called Baker before going to a solid sprocket on my bike and the first question they asked me was how much torque my bike was putting out. When I shared the Torque result of my Dyno run (141 ft-lbs), he said that the Baker would not stand up to that amount of torque.

Installed the twin power 34T sprocket a few weeks ago alongwith the baker armored attitude adjuster.
Only had a chance to ride it a short distance but I like itthus far.
Baker recommends between 5/8 and 7/8 inches of slack whenadjusting the tensioner, the two closest notches on the adjuster gave my either½ or ¾ inches of slack. I went with the recommend setting of ¾ and everythingworks and sounds fine but if I pull the primary cover again will probably tightenit up to the ½ adjustment as my SG only has 2500 miles and I’m sure the chain isn’tfully stretched.
