Default HD 103 (2011 RK) Cam -- Haul A$$

I'm in between 3 cams. Andrews 48, S&S 551 and Cycle Rama 570. I ride two up but I need something I can go from 0 to fast as soon as possible. I block on benefit runs and need to race to the front of the pack. The posts I've seen seem to be these will all be good for low torque but wanted to see if any of you have used the CR570 in comparison. I don't see them mentioned but they (Cycle Rama) say that they will be the best for my needs. Thoughts???

Look up Scheffer Performance in Evansville, IN. This guy deals with the Cyclerama cams and is a good tuner from what I know of him. I think he'll lead you in the right direction.

i eould not put the 48 in a 103. 103 may benefit from something like woods 555 or andrews 57
never ran cycle rama

If your compression is high enough the SE259e cam is a great choice. If your running stock compression the SE254e is a great choice

I'm curious as to why you wouldn't put the 48 in a stock 103

i think the 48 is better suited for the 96 as it tends to produce great down low but does run out around 4500 to 5000 rpms. it will work, but there are better choices.

i have a set in my 96 and think they work great.

for the 103, i think the 57 or 555 are better choices. the larger displacement of the 103, needs a bit more in my opinion, especially if you raise compression.

dont get me wrong, the 48 will work but in my opinion, the 57 works better and if you increase compression beyond stock, the 555 is a hands down choice, but it likes 10.5 to 10.75 to 1.

if you are considering the 48 for a 103, i would not overlook the SE 255, the SE211 or the SE204. cheap bolt in cams that do get the work done

Andrew 57.or woods 555 But if you want bike quicker. Change from sprocket to 30t and rear to 70t. You will not need to change belt if both are change. You rpm only go up about 300rpm at 80 mph . First gear is easier to control idle crawling
I change gears before changing cams.

I used 30t from 2011 trike $80 and 70 from A sportster Then had 3/16 milled off mounting surface $40 for gear $30 for Machine work

this is a great approach as well it works. you need to remember to adjust speedo to correct any variances. course the stock speedo is not that accurate anyway so it might be ok as is. every bike ive checked is off 3 to 5 mph.

Big sky. Is correct. Just changing front from 32 to 30 is 3-5 mph. And rear will change mph to. Mine change about 8 mph total but don't how far off it was from start. I adjust mine using Power Vision DAILED RIGHT IN
