The windshield is just OK. I have 200 miles on it is all, but it's a little on the short side at 6'0" - I just can't seem to get entirely rid of the wind noise or buffeting. It's kind of one or the other. It sure does look good though!

I put some fork lowers on with my wind splitter & the difference was night & day, not 100% happy on the look but hopefully pc them black will improve that.

That's what I was afraid of. At 6'1" I was concerned it wouldn't be tall enough. I too like the look.

Are the lowers you used the HD "fangs"?
Previous to this bike, I had a Demin Black Fat Boy Lo. Put a HD detachable windshield on it and had massive buffeting. My full face chin bar was catching all kinds of air from below. Put on some fangs, and buffeting went away, but like you say, they don't look great. I never did PC them black... just did away with the shield.

I'm looking at the windsplitter too, but very gun shy about buffeting from below. The vent is supposed to help with that??

TBH i don't think the vent makes a lot of difference to the buffeting, yes they are the HD fangs. I tend to ride most of the time without the windshield but will use the fangs on longer trips .

Ask your local dealer if you can test it out first. Mine let me try it out before buying it.

It's not perfect, but better than nothing.

Already asked one of the dealers in the state... they don't have a windsplitter to demo. Said I'd have to buy it and wouldn't be able to return it once mounted.

Haven't asked our other dealer yet... will do that next year when I get more serious about possibly buying one.
