I Forgot How To Shift...
Momentarily when I lost my heel shifter on a ride today. What a sick feeling to experience when you go to accelerate and your heel only hits the footboard. And then there's the the other bad feeling when the toe of your boot doesn't quite fit under toe shifter and you you have to catch the peg with the edge of the sole of your boot.
Thankfully it was a back road and no traffic. After I realized that my heel shifter was gone I remembered hearing a clunk a few miles back so I retraced my ride and found the shifter in the middle of the road. A short roadside repair and I was back on track.
Gonna spend the afternoon doing a fastener check.

live and learn...same here with the toe shifter
thats why I love tank shifting ( although I have dropped a bolt on the linkage...on a classic you gotta carry bailing wire

Well I feel better now since someone else admits this has happened to them. I was afraid I was the only one.
