Default I Forgot How To Shift...

Momentarily when I lost my heel shifter on a ride today. What a sick feeling to experience when you go to accelerate and your heel only hits the footboard. And then there's the the other bad feeling when the toe of your boot doesn't quite fit under toe shifter and you you have to catch the peg with the edge of the sole of your boot.

Thankfully it was a back road and no traffic. After I realized that my heel shifter was gone I remembered hearing a clunk a few miles back so I retraced my ride and found the shifter in the middle of the road. A short roadside repair and I was back on track.

Gonna spend the afternoon doing a fastener check.

tight and locktite.

live and learn...same here with the toe shifter

thats why I love tank shifting ( although I have dropped a bolt on the linkage...on a classic you gotta carry bailing wire

Another good feeling is pulling away from a light, shifting out of 1st with the heel, not hitting it hard enough, and hitting the gas in neutral! Oh yeah!

That's funny. I love the heal shifter and always use it. It's nice not having a worn spot on top of the left boot.

Ride safe.

I setup heel toe on wife's Triglide which she preferred. I kind of liked it too so set mine up the same. I like it . And if you did lose your shifter you can always get by with one . But if you only have one. Well vice grips it is. HAHAHAHAH

Well I feel better now since someone else admits this has happened to them. I was afraid I was the only one.

Guilty here as well. Silver lining - it means you're not mashing the heel shifter too hard, so it'll take longer to strip the splines!
