Annual big tent revival
Getting close to the worlds greatest outdoor adult shopping mall. Sturgis 2017.
thought i would give an early heads up.
was through rapid city and sturgis on my short 1,112 mile ride from st paul to montana.
starting at around exit 54, just past black hills Harley, for approximately 17 miles the freeway is under construction and they are moving traffic to one side of the freeway down to 1 lane in both directions
going to make for an interesting rally if the freeway repair is not completed in the next 6 weeks or so.
FYI. traffic was bad yesterday. can't imagine what it will be like with 300,000 plus more of the faithful.
hopefully they will get it sorted

I would think that they'd plan major road projects around the rally. I will be going out to ride in the Black Hills area (Staying in Sturgis for 4 nights) In the middle of July. Don't care to experience the giant shopping mall experience myself.
Interesting how inexpensive motels are when it's not the rally- we booked our rooms in January and the average motel 6 rates were about $50 a night.

I usually camp, have done so three times. This year for the first time I'm in a hotel in Keystone.
I played with priceline, hotels.com, orbitz, kayak, etc and keep an eye on them for months. Finally found a good hotel for 113 a night. For 5 nights... Same hotel is 184 a night now.
Going to Yellowstone first for a week and then rolling into Sturgis for the rally the week after. Can't wait.
Thanks for the heads up on the roads.
