zippers conversion kit 107 experience?
I have a 2013 Electra Glide and need a bit more grunt from the bottom up. My buddy has a RK with a S&S 106kit that runs good. Any idea which one is better? He only had a problem with the powervision tuning, Thundermax should be better?
So what do you want...?
sounds like a buddy beater...
me and my buddy went this route...lol
I changed cams...he changed gear drive cams...
I went 107...he went 113...
I went 124 w/627's...he went 124 with (what he told me) 594's...after the dynos...hes like...I went 657's : )
I love that guy like a brother!

There are a great many brands of 107 conversions available and I suspect the performance they each gives varies greatly across them all. We have two HDF sponsors (possibly more) who are well worth investigating, Fuel Moto and Hillside Cycles, so I suggest you widen your horizons a little and look at say a handful of options in all, not just those two you name. Hillside can offer you around 120/120, just to tease ya!
Personally I prefer keeping the stock ecm. Lots of threads and info on tuners.

I only mention buddy beater based on you comparison to your buddy's 106 and you looking at a 107.
Is your scoot still stock? Are you doing the work yourself?
Try a cam up grade...that's where I started. I had the initial stage 1 from FM...PC5 w/AT pipes and breather and that was nice for a year or so...then I wanted more.
I threw some 575's and a 55mm TB, 2 into 1 exhaust and switched to a Thundermax...wow! What a difference that made...and I didn't have to worry about the crank...90/90 on the dyno...not too bad for a couple of hours of work with my buddy's help...he helped me drink all my whiskey...lol
Winters are long here in MI and w/too much time on my hands...went w/the 124 next...
Now I'm were I wanna be...wish I would have just started there to begin with...
As far as price and reliability and ease to install...
I spoke w/a couple of different places...all reputable names...all w/in a couple hundred bucks of each other so that didn't sway me...
Reliability I think comes down to proper maintenance...that's why I asked if you're doing the wrenching...nobody is going to take care of your bike like you.
Ease to install...If you like to wrench...you'll love it. If you don't like to...it will be a pain in the dupa.
I went w/Chris Waddell at Cycle Solutions...he's my tuner...and Andrew at Revolution Performance for the head work and crank work as well as the BB kit. They have treated me well.
Good luck with your search...do lots...satisfy your needs...it's your time and money...that's half the fun!

I have the zippers 107" kit with 575 cams on my Street Glide. Also went heavy breather, V&H 2 into 1 and Thundermax tuner. As soon as I got the feel for the increase in torque, I immediately had to upgrade my clutch. The difference in the power of the bike is night and day. Just to give you an idea of the performance increase, a friend of mine purchased a 2016 Breakout CVO recently and he can't keep up with me through the first 4 gears.
Thanks for the info. yes this bike is still stock and want to upgrade not just cams as we had a race 103 roadglide/cams and S&S 106 can meet the performance but only high revs and I normally ride 1000-2500. Hey smat 45, how much did that 124 set you back? just out of interest. Thanks
