I am certainly giving them a chance to make it right, they've been very nice. However, there are a number of threads going right now about the poor quality of the supplied bottle jack, which on an item at this cost is really not acceptable. I understand that they don't manufacturer that part but it's the units main component so some more careful sourcing/ quality control is a must.

Most likely a defective jack. There is always one in the bunch. I had the same problem with the first generation Kendon's Folding Stand Up Motorcycle Lift. Kendon replace the jack and never had any more problems.

^ That. J&S probably buys the bottlejacks from China by the container-load-they're almost throwaways.

I have 3 J&S Jacks, and over the years I've had 3 leaky bottlejacks. In every case, J&S replaced the bottlejack without charge, in one case sending the replacement overnight (must have cost them $75+). Their customer service and the jacks themselves can't be beat.

Price a USA built bottle jack. Yeah what I thought. 99.99 will buy the Chinese one. US Made mostly I believe for government Procurement. Still Love my J&S.

Have one fail with a critical load on it sometime and all of a sudden that US price tag doesn't look so bad. Some stuff you just don't cheap out on.

So post pic of your USA jack in service. It will make you a .01 percent’r most guys here are bragging on harbor freight or Sears jacks, not any part made in USA
