Default quick detach hardware question

Looking at the front docking hardware and I am puzzled.

2 pics below for example. There seems to be 2 different kits. What's the deal and what is with the extra thin black piece in the second pic?

If you want a solo detachable hardware kit,you need 58303-06. If you want the two-up detachable kit,you need 58304-06

58304-06 shows as the rear set that is used for the tourpak. I want to be able to quick detach a passenger backrest only and that part appeared to be 58303-06 but I am finding two variations.

Where are you finding these two versions? Agreed they look different, which leaves me suspicious that one is true and the other is possibly the wrong kit.

Assuming you are putting this on your 08 ultra, I would use the 58304-06, yes it allows a tour pak, but it can be used for a passenger backrest as well. It includes all the necessary hardware. Tis better to have and not need than need and not have.

I actually have the 58304-06 parts already. I was noticing that there is another set of hardware and wasn't sure if I needed both for the occasional passenger backrest. Then noticed two different versions of the front hardware.
