Maybe a stupid question but. Is the docking hardware pretty much good for all detachables items?
Example: Im having the detachable Tour pack hardware installed on my EGC, so if i buy a detachable sissy bar it should mount right on, right? Hope this made a little sense. Thanks for any help
Actually, detachable hardware do not necessarily use the same docking points. In the example you give above the two items would NOT use the same docking point. Tour paks (for two up riding) use rear docking points and sissy bars use forward docking points. But if you are having both docking points put on your ECG then basically you will be ready to add any detachable accessory. The HD catalogue has a illustration of the docking points along with a matrix that will show what docking points you need for what hardware.
Thanks for the reply. Im not sure what catalogue you are talking about? I am currently out of the country so i dont have access to maint manuals and such. Is there a website or any pics somewhere i can see this? I do have access to the HD site if thats where it is. Thanks again for your help
Also i have located all of the parts numbers i think i will need. Im just a little confused on the Lic bracket. That one thread in the forum was confusing the hell out of me , LOL.
Remember that the hardware that comes with the docking kits (even the chome docking kits) is zinc. If you want chrom bolts, you have to buy them seperately. [:@]
You do not need to change your license plate frame or bracket! Your tour-pake will sit right on top on the plate, with a small space in between. You actually don't want to switch to a lay-down frame, as it will rub against the tour-pak mount.
