Default USB port in Street Glide fairing switch housing?

I want to put a USB port in one of the unused dash panel switch holes on a Street Glide.

I haven’t seen a drop in unit or anyone try to hack one together yet.

Anyone seen anything like this?

I'm sure it's doable as DIY mod. Look for something with a dustcap to keep the elements out when not in use.

There are many choices of USB adapters to plug into the cigarette lighter that can be had for $10. I've been using one to charge my phone for years.

Yeah, that is what I am going to do. I have been looking for a cheap filler blank to use in the build so I don’t screw up the ones I already have, but I will be dammed if I can find one.

Anyone have an extra blank laying around after they replaced with switches? 2010

I used a 12v to usb adapter hooked to the battery. Removed tank and plastic top from wire harness. Removed front fairing cover. Ran wire up main wire box through the fairing. and out the clutch cable hole. connects to the phone right in the same location. Easy job.
If you all ready have a Battery Tender connector on it you can use one of these and a regular usb cable. easy.

I use a small portable battery pack in one of my windshield bags to charge my phone while on the road. No mess of wiring and it is completely hidden.

I did what xcbullet did.... nice, neat, out of the way. Nice rubber cover to cover the ports when not in use. Took all of 1/2 hour to do.
