Default 06 Electra Glide Ultra Classic vs an 02

Well, the dealer appears to be having charging issues with the 06. They're telling me they had to order parts, so we wait a bit longer. If this turns into a continuous waiting match, I have a backup from a private party. They've got an 02 with a rebuilt top end and two sets of pipes (loud and quiet), for about 2 grand less, but it has 60,000 miles as opposed to the 06 with 30,000 miles. Do I really loose anything with the 02 for $6300 over the 06? They're equiped the same, so does 4 years and an extra 30,000 make it a deal breaker? The weather still has me grounded, but I'm getting ansy, and patience isn't always my strong suit .

02 has better forged crank and good lefty bearing, 06 has better heads and beehive springs. 06 has better fork internals. Either could be carb or Delphi EFI.

I should have mentioned, both are fuelies. That said, the charging thing concerns me a bit. The older Wings suffered from stator problems, and I'd hate to land back in the same situation. Now I'm paranoid not Ridin in the Rockies. 🤔

2006 had a voltage regulator recall. Might be something as simple as that. Not to make you more paranoid, but make sure the injectors are the 25 degree and not the 8 degree.

tehan2, I'd be fine with a 2018 right now, unfortunately it's a funding thing . This is a cash deal with my wife dictating the allowance plus whatever I get for my Aspencade, I'd hate to come up short for yours. Truth be told, I'd rather have something around 09, as I understand the frame is improved and it has the 6 speed. But again, funds are the deciding factor right now. We'll see how she pans out. Thanks for the offer though. What do you have and what are you asking for it?

Should be able to see the numbers on the side. If not, pulling them would show the spray pattern.
