Default Tool Kit

So I don't have a HD tool kit with my scoot but thought I'd just put together a small pile and wrap em up in a pouch. Anyone game to take a pic of your tool kit contents so I can get an idea what I need to be carrying? Thanks for your participation in this kind act of helping a new-ish rider 😎

Torx head bits, allen wrenches, ratchet, socket set, open end wrenches, screwdrivers, flashlight. I carry these in my saddlebag just in case.

Default Tool Kit

I don't know about everyone else, but I carry enough tools to fix most anything I'm liable to have happen short of catastrophic failure. Wrenches, needle nose pliers, cutters, torx 1/4 in, drive sockets and extensions, 3/8 ditto, Spark plug socket. Tie strips, tape, tire patch kit, with mushroom plugs ( no glue required), a small air compressor, full set of ball-end allen wrenches. Probably more stuff I'm forgetting. All carried in two small cases that don't take up that much space. Plus, on long trips in desert country, I'll frequently carry two gas cans, those made to fit harley hard bags. Only needed one once, for myself, but once for somebody else stranded without gas. Only used the tire kit, and compressor once, also. For somebody else with a flat tire. Nevada desert no place to break down, that's for sure. I ride Hwy 50 a lot, and NO services for a long damn way, including cell phone service, so be prepared to deal with what comes up.

All that plus wire cutters, plyers, a multi tool, electrical tape, 3 or 4 feet of wire, zip ties, a tire guage, spark plug socket, an adjustable wrench and maybe a few other odds and ends. I don't use a tool roll, rather a nylon zip up bag thats about 5" × 6" × 2". Fits perfectly in the bottom of the saddle bag side to side and takes up a little less than half the length. 98% was stuff I had extra of and is much more complete than most of the expensive kits you can buy. Never had to use it on my own bike but its come in handy for friends.
FWIW, I have a similar size bag in the other side that has a small air compressor and a good tire plug kit.

I carry most of what is mentioned in the tool kits above. I also carry a AAA card with a cell phone if it is beyond road side repair. Just saying.......

Phillips and flat screwdrivers, 3/8" ratchet with a few sockets + spark plug socket and a set of old plugs, torx and hex sockets, a couple box end wrenches, tire repair kit, small knife, electrical tape, small crescent wrench and small vise grips almost forgot a small first aid kit. I have aaa...did you have to pay extra to add the motorcycle? How much?

I like the Cruz Tools RoadTech H3 Harley Davidson Tool Kit - RTH3....Reasonably priced and it rolls up nicely and fits neatly in the bottom of my Road King's hard bags.

You don't need to carry full sets of sockets, allen, torx, or combo wrenches. There are: you can select only the sizes your bike uses, which is surprisingly few.

Man has fixed motorcycles for years with wrenches and they pack better than sockets. Add jb weld. I’ve had issues once where I went for a slide and a case rubbed through. Little jb quick and got her limped back home
