What type of bulb is used in the headlight on an 02 FLHTC I was going to walk across the street and pick up a silverstar for mine but don't have the bike manual here. Thanks.
Thanks I was thinking it was just a regular H4 with the three prongs, I've also read that about silverstars failing, but I'll tell you before I read any of that about the failing I've had the samesilverstar bulbin my 1988 Softail for the last two years now and its still working fine, the vibrations on the Eglide aren't anything like they are on that old softail. Thanks though.
H4 I think, but silverstars are known to fail much quicker in harleys due to vibration.
I've had two go out in the last two years so I'm back to running the stock one again. I'll probably just stay with it. On the Silverstar package for the H4 it will say "For motorcycle use" but in my case it didn't seem to make a difference.

Order some ??/100w bulbs. The high-beam output is considerably better, and I've averaged about 3 years per bulb over the past 10 years I've been using them. You can buy 55/100, 85/100, and 90/100. I have seen some that go above 100w for the high-beam, but that may stress the fuse/breaker. I've had no trouble with the 100w variety on either my '96 RK or this '07 SG. Kuryakyn makes a 90/100w bulb for $9 (clear). I wouldn't buy the blue-tinted variety as the tinting is counterproductive. It cuts light intensity and is a less-visible color temperature.
