Hi anyone tried the streamliner shifter pegs, wondering if there more comfortable , They look good, And are the stock pegs torqed down pretty good. do you need to heat to get off, thanks Danny

 

Stock pegs are pretty easy to remove, they have a bit of lock tite on the threads, but nothing you will need heat for.

 

15 minute job to R&R stock peg. Have never even thought about "comfort" with regard to a shifter peg. If it attaches to the lever at a 90 degree angle and can catch your boot...done. Unless you're riding in slippers or flip-flops (say no)...ha.

 

I put them on my old 2011 so everything would match(streamliner pegs, floorboards, grips etc) easy to do. As for comfort couldn't tell any difference through my boot.

 

Have them on my bike just a look not a comfort modification

 

Just installed them, piece o' cake. No heat needed to remove old ones. I used a small bore brush to clean the old loc-tite out of the threads.

 

This brings up a good point...

I learned from another forum, a tip about getting a set of "thread chasers". They look like a tap & die set, but they are not. They are designed to clean threads, not cut new threads. If you do a lot of work on your bike/car/boat... they are a worthwhile purchase..

I bought a thread chaser set from Sears, and it is now the most used tool in my home shop... They are great at not only cleaning old thread locker, but they also clean gunk, rust, and generally clean up any issues with the threads of bolts or in bolt holes. I use them every time I take something apart and put it back together. More than once they have helped, when I was having an issue getting a bolt started. I just "chase" the threads of the bolt & bolt hole, and they go back together like new....

I would not do work without them now.....
