hayden spring broke, then baker bent,
hayden with improved spring back in.
Baker now offers an upgrade to their original chain adjuster. I ordered the upgrade at their booth in Sturgis. I think they offered a nice 15% discount if you purchased any of their items at the rally. One nice thing about the upgrade is that it comes with a new shoe. So, one can run with the original unit and if/when the shoe wears out, install the upgrade. Baker Armored Attitude Adjuster
For you cats wanting pics. Here ya go. A couple of views. If you can make out what this mangled piece of aluminum is more power to ya. Pic of pressure plate with aluminum particles. I pulled and cleaned plates. Gonna change chain out with a spare one I have. And. Go with stock adjuster.
When you go back to the stock box style tensioner make sure that you don't torque the bottom 1/4 inch bolts too tight or the plastic could split / crack. Refer to the manual. I even go a little lighter.
As you say, I can't make out what those parts started out life as! Doesn't look anything like my M6, which is mostly steel and a big chunk of moulded white plastic.
