Default 2000 Electra Glide STD

Thinking about buying this bike for $2700. Has 33000 miles on it. Will be my first Harley. Anything I should look for when I go to look at it?

Ask if cam tensioners and bearings were addressed. Ask if the old plastic style breather baffles were changed. Is it a carb?

Carb? Buy it. FI? nope run away unless you can work on it yourself and do a carb conversion.

As others have mentioned, the chain tensioner shoes are problematic and can be fatal to the motor when they fail

How does it run, what condition and has this bike been well maintained? For just $2,700 I'd snag it assuming title is clear. Fuel injection system for that year can be a challenge if running poorly but is manageable, or as noted above, can be converted to carburetor.

That's a lot of bike for a reasonable amount of money.

Almost doesn't matter what condition it's in! Tensioners and other such stuff can be checked after purchase, especially if it runs and rides right.

Knowing year, model, price and miles is really very minimal information.
Condition is what makes a difference.
Sometimes things are showroom condition while other times the bike might have been forgotten in a back yard to the elements.
For example:
If bike has been in an accident and there are a bunch of parts broken like a fairing, saddlebags, seat and gas tank then the bike would be more of a parts bike.
If bike has a rebuilt title.
If bike was abused.
If bike has mechanical issues.
There are many variables in condition and then more variables in your abilities....
Do you have mechanical ability?
Buying an old bike could present a tremendous bargain for someone but a major expense if you need to take it to a mechanic because you do not know how to change a gasket.

I agree. That's a good price. If the OP doesn't buy it, someone else will.
