If EFI it has a Magneti Marelli system which takes a little TLC to keep idling correctly. If the engine is stock and you intend to keep it that way you should be fine. If you plan to do any performance mods you might want to pass because the tuning options for the MM system are limited. Look for a 2002+ with a Delphi system.

also, at that price point I'd be asking what's wrong?

for $2700, if its in even decent conditon, you could part it out and make all your money back (and then some most likely).
