You all made me paranoid had to go check to see if my cap was in place forgot where I parked the bike.

With over 55 years of riding experience, I find that storing my ONLY gas cap that way works fine. Every time I forget to replace the cap on the tank, I recognize the error INSTANTLY when sitting down on the seat, and it stays nice and warm while filling the tank.
