Why all the apparent problems finding neutral?

You didn't think a REV limiter was on there to limit speed did you. Along with finding neutral so many just can't find gears.

I believe it is technique.
If someone just stomps at it, and expects it to go to neutral every time, just think about it.
When I want neutral, I have a heel or toe on the foot board, and with a controlled rocking motion I ease it into neutral, from first or second into neutral does not matter which. I just about always go from second to neutral every time I stop at a gas pump.
When I rode metrics, I just had to develop a feel for toe shifting into neutral. Foot on the peg, and again, using a rocking motion.
I am not surprised that "Stomp And Hope" often does not work.
