HELP! BoomBox GTS Update - Bricked !!
I downloaded the latest version of the GTS 'System Software Update' - MY19.19.03.00 | MAR 04, 2019 and attempted to install it on my 2019 CVO Street Glide. I put the bike in accessory mode and plugged in the USB drive. It immediately recognized the USB drive and the software update and asked me if I wanted to install it. I proceeded with the installation. After about 15 minutes, the speakers started making a popping sound every 8 seconds - yes I timed it and the screen went completely blank. I could still see the USB flashing as if the bike was pulling data from it. This went on for about 90 minutes and then the bike just shut itself off. I put the bike back into accessory mode with the USB attached and still got a blank screen; at least the speaker popping noise went away. I decided to turn the bike off again, unplug the USB stick, and then put the bike back into accessory mode. The screen came on and read the something like...
software installation process was interrupted please leave ignition in accessories position and plug in USB
I did that and attempted to tap the 'RETRY' button but nothing happened. The screen remained on with the same message but nothing changed and the USB drive was not being read. I decided to turn off accessory mode and put the bike in ignition mode but the same message appeared. I turned the bike off and switched to accessory mode with the USB plugged in and still saw the same message. I tried clicking 'RETRY' but nothing happened. I decided to leave it in accessory mode with the USB plugged in and step away. I came back 20 minutes later and the screen was blank again and the USB was being read. I let this run for about two hours and it was still reading the USB. The USB was being read every 8 seconds and then 18 seconds consistently this entire time. I called it quits and shut the bike off since I was tired as hell.
What do I do? Is there a way to put the radio in a reset mode by using some combination of on and off cycles with button combinations? Is there a service menu that can be accessed to restore it? I have no clue what to do now.
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

PM Tn.Heritage. He reported the same issue in the M8 Forum, but he never reported back if he resolved the issue or not. Maybe he did and he can tell you the fix.
I have done this dozens of times on my two bikes over the last 5 or 6 years and have NEVER had a problem. I am an IT guy so I have years of experience upgrading firmware on a myriad of devices. In all my years of experience I have not had an upgrade fail to the point in bricked a device.
There is a time delay between attempts if I recall. You have to wait like 1 full minute but I forgot the length. Try it again turn bike off for several minutes then turn to acc and then plug in usb
I tried a third USB drive and it worked. I received the same error that I mentioned above. I put the bike in Accessories mode and plugged in the third USB stick and it prompted me to install the system update. It worked completely normally this time and completed the update successfully.
This is a very old USB 1.0 stick that I had buried in a drawer somewhere. The only difference between this drive and the others I used is that this was a USB 1.0 drive and was only 6 GB in capacity. The other drives that I attempted to use are USB 3.0 drives.
I guess the lesson is that despite the BoomBox GTS being as advanced as it is, it doesn't like USB 3.0 drives. I was on the verge of taking it to the dealer and see if they could do a reset using Harley's Digital Technician.
I hope this post helps others who may encounter this issue.

Thank you for your response. I waited hours between attempts to no avail. However, there is good news!
