Corbin seat lock problem
Anyone have a lock/latch get stuck when trying to remove seat? Just acquired a Corbin seat for my 03RG, put it on yesterday afternoon but when I tried the key to take it off to install backrest, the front of the seat would NOT release from the locking pin. Any suggestions?
Thanks

I like my Corbin but their lock sytem. is POS, and over kill. Arrogant BS.
Pull your side covers off. Get pair needle nose or something in there and grab the cable to pull. Once you get it off put 2 tywraps on and leave hang down frame.
Ya my expensive corbin has a busted lock and tywraps hanging. I lubed it too. Just a crap **** arrogant design that I paid to much for,

Well, thanks to a good forum buddy, Nomadmax, and the fact we are geographic neighbors, he gave me an hour or two of his time and by golly between the two of us we got it unlocked and off!
It was determined that the pin the seat drops over and latches was too vertical. It needed to be 'leaning' - oh maybe 5* - toward the rear of the bike. We made that adjustment and slowly/carefully observed where it made contact and made sure it was going to engage at the proper angle. Held our breath and snapped it down and was able to simply turn the key to release and it did/does.
Thanks for all the suggestions here as I was willing to try about anything! Bottom line, it simply took both of us pushing toward the tank and lifting/tugging up on the nose, in as many different directions as we possible. All of a sudden *BAM* it came unlatched

I bought a used seat with no key, and emailed Corbin. Quick to respond giving me the lock manufacture info - which was not correct for this seat. Then they told me he would “help me out” with a lock, That was over a year ago. Home Depot to save the day. Not sure I’ll ever buy a Corbin again, not to mention I’m still not digging the firmness, but now I’m committed.
