Leaf Blowers to dry bike? Pluses & Misses
Hi all,
Did a search but really didn't come up with much. Anyone using a corded lawn leaf blower to dry bike? Any problems with dust damaging finish? I know they sell a filtered blower but more than I want to spend to save a few minutes. Models and thoughts?
Thanks.......goldie

If you don't already have one I'd buy a battery powered one. It doesn't take very long to dry the bike, so you don't have to worry about the battery charge lasting long. And you don't have that dang cord in your way. I don't mind the cord plugged in on my Communications, but I DO NOT want a cord on my leaf blower! LOL!

They do save a fair amount of time. Paticularly where water tends to pool or migrate, like the engine. Kinda of nice to blow the water off instead of boil it off lol. Be carefull around electrical connections, the hand control switch housing espcially. You don't want to be forcing water in there with the blower while trying to dry it off.
I only was my bike about twice a year but I have been using a 30 dollar electric Toro I got off of amazon and it works like a charm. I finish up the detail drying with a great white drying towl from Adams Polishes.
Just be careful with some gas models as they will spit oil out along with the air. Thats the last thomg anyone needs.
