Default Corroded Diagnostic/ Service Port

Today I went to hook up my VHfp3 and found my port all corroded. I figure I could splice a new one on but can find the dang thing online. Where can I get one of these? Thanks.

Hi Rich, welcome to the Forum from Utah.

When you post about a problem state the year and model of the bike your working on it will help anyone willing to look into it.

You will probably have to build a new pig tail. Here's a link to Ronnie's, looking at a 08 Road King

http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....BRAKES%20-%204

Go to a dealer and order the connector and pins 39, 43 52 and 54. Whats the rest of the bike look like? Salt from the Gulf?

Good Luck
Bill

Holy corrosion Batman...you sure that's corrosion...looks like that plug melted and the plastic below the fuse box looks pretty rough too. Just want to make sure you don't have a bigger issue waiting to ruin your day.

Looks pretty rough. Battery acid boil over/spill?

Missing a fastener as well.

Looks like a battery acid spill/boil over to me too.....

OP, look at your battery box/tray and see if there are signs of acid spill there too..... if so, time to do a good thorough flush with baking soda/water....

as Vernal pointed out, it's not that hard to add a new deutsch connector, you may even be able to save the pins... just make sure to get the wires/pins in the correct orientation...

Thanks for the help. I have a 08 Electra Glide. When I changed my battery this past Mardi Gras, I must of added to much distilled water to a thirsty cell and spilled onto this connection. I'm not really sure how to make this pigtail connection. It looks like only 3 pins coming from the bike and my tuner only has 3 pins but the service lady thinks its 4 and no mechanics were around. She said it may be part number 7214494 and Im gonna follow up when Im sure.

update: i dont know what the hell that part is now that ive googled it

Thanks. I think I found one on JP Cycles. Hopefully it wont be hard to put together. The pins seem alright. I just have to figure out how to take it apart without destroying and use the new connector.
